Are you thinking about food all the time, or more often than you’d like? Is your relationship with food one filled with fear and confusion; fear that what you eat will simply worsen your symptoms, keeping you from moving forward? Then it might be time to take the steps towards food freedom.

Food freedom involves transforming your relationship with eating to one that is joyous, loving, healthy and free. Let’s get into the top steps you should take in order to gain food freedom.

1. Learn to Check in With Yourself

One of the first steps you should take when it comes to food freedom is learning to listen to your body.  Learning how to listen and navigate what your body needs is a skill and it can be learned. It’s all about learning how to tune inward. To us, half of the battle is actually being aware there is a battle.

Once you are aware of the battle you are fighting, it’s a lot easier to come up with a strategy that will be successful. The more mindful you are, and the more aware you are, the more you will tune in when it comes to food, and making food choices.

2. Learn The Basics

In order to progress in your food freedom journey, you need to have a good foundation to build on. Education is by far one of the best ways to feel free and empowered through food and what you fuel your body with on a daily basis. Learn 38735the basics first, then continue learning.

Figure out what foods make your immune system work harder than it’s suppose to and then avoid those foods. Foods that may make someone else feel energized may make you feel sluggish and bloated. We are all diverse and different, and this includes diet.

3. Food Prep

While food prep is optional, it’s definitely recommended. Most of us are guilty of looking around and wishing we had something to eat, before we end up grabbing something easy like fast food or cereal. However, having a plan would prevent this situation entirely.

Learning how to plan delicious meals and prepare ahead of time will help you greatly on your journey to food freedom. There are so many amazing recipes out there for breakfast, dinner, and anything in between. And honestly, it can be pretty fun to learn new recipes and experiment with different flavors and ingredients.
